PULIVENDULA BUS
Pulivendula is a town located in the Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh.
It’s name has been derived from “Puli Mandala” meaning a group of tigers. This
is because it is said to have been a forested area with a huge population of
tigers once upon a time.
The town has been the birthplace of many well-known politicians. It has a number of parks and a craft village known as Silparamam. Pulivendula has a lot of diverse religions being followed so it is home to various temples, mosques and churches.
Sri Ranganatha swamy temple is the most famous temple in the region. It is a religious centre of Sri Vaishnavism which was propagated from SriRangam to Saint Ramanujam. The temple has been built during the sixteenth century by Sri Krishna Devaraya of Vijayanagar dynasty. The river Kaveri forms three islands in its stretch along Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. These are considered sacred and are namely Adi Ranga at SriRangapatna, Madhya Ranga at Sri Ranganatha swamy temple in Pulivendula and Antya Ranga at Srirangam.
It has been recently
planned to transform Pulivendula and Kadapa into model towns through pilot
projects. A uranium mine and processing plant has been established by the
Uranium Corporation of India at about 15 kilometres south of Pulivendula. These
reserves may be among the top twenty richest ones in the world.
About 44,000 tonnes of natural uranium have been discovered in the belt by AMD (The Atomic Minerals Directorate for Exploration and Research) of India.
Pulivendula has great infrastructure when compared to other areas in the region, with wide roads, an underground drainage system, and a ring road.
